Welcome to St. Peter's Copt Oak
Welcome to St. Peter's Copt Oak. Situated on the edge of the Charnwood Forest, the church stands set back from the road behind the Copt Oak Inn.
It was built in 1837 to a design by Mr R.W Railton and is a Grade 2 listed building with its own churchyard. It has a ring of six bells and an active team of bellringers. Facilities include: kitchen, toilet, ample car park and ramp for wheelchair access. The Church Family at St Peter’s is a dedicated and enthusiastic group who generate a caring and friendly atmosphere. We are committed to sharing the Christian message within our local community and enjoy working together in social and fundraising activities. Our special events and Sunday services are advertised in the Copt Oak Inn and local magazines. If you would like to join us at any of these we would be delighted to welcome you.
Times of our regular services vary from Sunday to Sunday throughout the month, so please check the calendar below for information about specific days (click on the text for more information).
In addition. St. Peter’s holds a number of social and fundraising events throughout the year. Please see the What's On page for details of forthcoming events.
THE CHURCH AND COVID-19
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement of 23rd March, the Archbishops have written to clergy in support of the measures, requiring that churches must now close both for private worship and public services.
Our church buildings are therefore now closed for public worship, private prayer and all other meetings and activities except for vital community services until further notice.
