Life Events

All of us travel on life’s journey, but we do not travel alone. We journey with family, friends, our neighbours and community – and with God. As churches, we can help to mark significant life events: birth, marriage, death and other turning points.
Weddings

A wedding is a great time for celebration. More than a quarter of all weddings in England take place in the setting of a Church of England parish church. Find out more about getting married in one of our churches.

Funerals

A funeral marks the end of a human life on earth. It is an opportunity for friends and family to express their sense of grief and loss, to give thanks for the life that has ended and to commend that person to God’s safe-keeping. Find out more about how we can help.

Baptisms (Christenings)

Baptism (also known as christening) is the sign of a decision to follow Jesus in the journey of faith. By doing so, the person being baptised joins God’s community, the church. Parents often bring young children to be baptised, but young people and adults of any age can also be baptised. Find out more about baptism for yourself or for your child.
