THORNTON BELLS
A Works Tour and Museum visit to John Taylor's Bell
Foundry at Loughborough with the opportunity to
witness the casting of the new treble bell destined for
St.Peter's church has been organised for Thursday,
24th October 2019 from 1.30pm to 3.15pm. You will
be able to follow the development in the art of English
bellfounding over at least 600 years! Where once this
skilled activity was undertaken by numerous itinerant
craftsmen.
A coach has been booked leaving the Bricklayers Arms at 12.30pm, returning at 4.15pm. The cost of the trip is £10 per person and we have a limit of 30 people per tour.
